About Spin the Wheel

Spin the Wheel is a random name picker that turns your options into a colorful wheel and picks one at random when you spin. Just type one entry per line and each item appears as a colored slice — press the center button and the wheel spins to choose a winner.

Use weighting to change the odds for each option by making its slice larger or smaller. Turn on elimination mode (remove winner) and each pick is dropped from the next spin, which makes the wheel spinner handy for setting an order, building random teams or groups, and running tournament brackets. One-tap presets cover the most common cases: a yes or no wheel, numbers, days of the week, a "what to eat" wheel, and party dares.

Your wheel is saved in the URL, so sharing the link recreates the exact same wheel of names on someone else's screen. Every spin happens on your device — your entries and history are never sent to a server. From picking lunch or a destination, to a random name picker for the classroom, to a giveaway winner picker or raffle, let the decision wheel make the call. Runs entirely in your browser.

How to use

  1. Type one option per line in the text box (duplicates are merged into one). You can also load a preset.
  2. Adjust the odds for each option with weighting if needed.
  3. Turn on elimination mode (remove winner) when you want to pick a full order.
  4. Press the center button to spin the wheel — the slice it lands on is the winner.
  5. Use "Share URL" to send the same wheel to others as a link.

Use cases

  • A decision wheel for choosing lunch, dinner, or where to go when you can't decide.
  • A random name picker for teachers and organizers to pick presenters, turns, or seating in class or at events.
  • Picking dares or prompts on the spot at parties and game nights.
  • Drawing a giveaway winner on screen during a live stream or video, like a raffle.
  • Running a draw where some options should win more often by setting a weight per option.

Notes

  • You can enter up to 100 options, with up to 60 characters each.
  • Identical lines are merged into a single option. Use weighting if you want to change how often an option wins.
  • In elimination mode, you can no longer spin once a single option remains. Use "Reset removed" to restore them.
  • History is stored on your device (browser storage), up to 50 entries, and does not carry over to another browser.
  • Picks use a cryptographically secure random number (or a pseudo-random fallback where unavailable). For official draws that require legal approval, use a separately certified system.

FAQ

Are my options sent to a server?
No. Building the wheel, spinning, and saving history all happen in your browser, so you can safely use it even for internal or private options.
Can I change how likely each option is to win?
Yes. Increase or decrease an option's weight and its slice grows or shrinks to change the odds. For example, set "win" to weight 1 and "lose" to weight 3, and "lose" comes up three times as often.
Can I use it to set an order or for elimination?
Turn on elimination mode (remove winner) and each pick is automatically removed from the next spin. Spin repeatedly to fairly set everyone's order or build a tournament bracket.
Can I share a wheel I made?
Press "Share URL" to copy a link that includes your options, weights, and mode. Opening the link recreates the same wheel, so your team or event can share a draw with identical settings.
Are there templates for dares or deciding what to eat?
Presets include Yes / No, Numbers 1-10, Days of the Week, What to Eat, and Party Dares. One tap fills in the options, so you can spin right away.
