MUTools

Privacy Policy

MU Tools (the "Site") respects your privacy and is designed, in principle, not to collect personal information through tool use. This policy describes what information the Site handles and how it is handled.

1. Browser-only processing

In principle, every tool the Site provides completes its processing inside your browser (on your device). Text you enter into a tool, files you upload, and the results that are generated are never sent to or stored on our servers or anywhere else.

2. Tools that query external data (exception)

A small number of tools that retrieve or analyze public external data must, by the nature of what they do, temporarily send the user's input to external public data sources via our server. Such input data is used only as needed to make the external request, on a temporary basis, and is not persistently stored in the Site's database or elsewhere.

3. Information stored in the database

The Site uses a database solely to manage on-site content — tool descriptions, FAQs, use cases, and other multilingual data. Data that users enter into tools, output results, and operation history are never stored in the database.

4. Cookies and local storage

To improve usability, the Site may use the browser's local storage to retain UI settings such as language preference. This information is stored only inside the user's browser and is not transmitted to our server. The Site does not use any first-party cookies for the purpose of identifying or tracking users.

5. Access analytics

The Site uses Google Analytics, an access-analytics tool provided by Google, in order to understand how the site is used and to improve the service. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect data. The data is collected anonymously and does not identify individuals.

You can opt out of this data collection by disabling cookies in your browser settings. For details about the Google Analytics terms and how data is processed, please refer to Google's privacy policy and related documents.

6. Advertising

At present, the Site does not use any advertising services. If we introduce them in the future and collect or use anonymous data through cookies or similar technologies, we will update this policy and clearly disclose the purposes and the opt-out method.

7. Access logs at infrastructure providers

The hosting, network, and other infrastructure providers used by the Site may automatically record access logs (IP address, User-Agent, request path, and the like) to the extent necessary for server operations and security. Such logs are handled in accordance with each provider's own privacy policy.

8. Information collected through contact

The "Nickname", "Email address", and "Inquiry content" fields submitted through Contact (Google Forms) are used only for replying to you and for improving and debugging the service. They are not used for any other purpose and are not provided to third parties.

9. Disclosure to third parties

Except where there is a legitimate reason, such as a disclosure request based on laws and regulations, we do not provide collected information to third parties.

10. Security

The Site encrypts all communication using HTTPS.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised as needed. Revised content takes effect at the moment it is posted on this page.
