About Unit Converter

Unit Converter converts units across nine categories: length, weight, temperature, area, volume, speed, data, time, and pressure. Enter a value and the result updates in real time, and you can copy it with a single click.

Just pick a category and choose the source and target units. Input works in both directions, so you can type a number in either the "From" or "To" field and the other side updates automatically. Use the swap button to flip the two units instantly. Common conversions (cm ⇄ in, kg ⇄ lb, ℃ ⇄ ℉, and more) are one tap away from the presets.

Choose to display 4, 6, 8, or 10 significant digits to match the precision you need. The "Convert to all units" table also shows your value converted to every unit in the same category at once. The tool handles conversions between imperial units like inches, feet, and pounds and SI units like meters and kilograms.

All calculations run in your browser, and the numbers you enter are never sent to any server. Runs entirely in your browser.

How to use

  1. Choose the category of the units you want to convert (length, weight, temperature, and so on).
  2. Select the source unit and the target unit.
  3. Enter a value in the source field, and the converted result appears in the target field in real time (you can also type in the target field to convert in the opposite direction).
  4. Press the swap button to flip the source and target units.
  5. Adjust the number of significant digits to set the precision you want.
  6. Click "Copy" to copy the result. In the "Convert to all units" table, you can copy each unit's value individually.

Use cases

  • Students and teachers converting between SI and imperial units for science and math work.
  • Home cooks translating cups, tablespoons, teaspoons, and ounces from overseas recipes into grams or milliliters.
  • DIYers and anyone working from drawings who needs to convert inch and foot dimensions to centimeters and meters.
  • Anyone gauging land or property size who wants a feel for tsubo and square meters.
  • Engineers checking the difference between GB and GiB (decimal vs. binary) for bandwidth or storage.
  • Anyone converting pressure, speed, or temperature values from overseas weather reports or spec sheets into familiar units.

Notes

  • Cooking units (cup, tablespoon, teaspoon) follow the Japanese measuring convention (cup = 200 mL, tablespoon = 15 mL, teaspoon = 5 mL). Gallon and fluid ounce use US values.
  • For data sizes, KB, MB, and GB are treated as decimal (1 KB = 1000 B) and KiB, MiB, and GiB as binary (1 KiB = 1024 B).
  • Temperature conversions between Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin account for the offset (0℃ = 32℉ = 273.15 K).
  • Results are rounded to the number of significant digits you select. Depending on the original value and digit setting, slight rounding errors may appear in the last places.
  • One tsubo is calculated as 400/121 square meters (about 3.305785 m²).

FAQ

Are the numbers I enter sent to a server?
No. All conversions run in your browser, so you can safely use the tool with confidential or personal data.
How do I convert between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉)?
Select the Temperature category and set Celsius as the source and Fahrenheit as the target (or vice versa) to convert automatically. Celsius to Fahrenheit is ℃ × 9 ÷ 5 + 32, and Fahrenheit to Celsius is (℉ − 32) × 5 ÷ 9; the tool handles this precisely for you.
Can I convert cm to inches?
Yes. In the Length category, set cm as the source and in (inch) as the target. The conversion uses 1 inch = 2.54 cm. You can also set it up in one tap from the "cm ⇄ in" preset.
What is the difference between KB and KiB (GB and GiB)?
KB, MB, and GB are decimal units that step up by 1000, while KiB, MiB, and GiB are binary units that step up by 1024. Storage is usually labeled in decimal, while OS memory readings often use binary, and this tool lets you convert both with the distinction kept clear.
Does it support Japanese units like tsubo?
Yes, the Area category supports tsubo (1 tsubo ≈ 3.305785 m²). You can convert it to and from square meters and hectares, which is handy for understanding land or room size.
Can I change the number of displayed digits?
Yes. You can choose 4, 6, 8, or 10 significant digits. Use fewer digits for a quick estimate and more digits when you need higher precision.
